The Iranian government is making great efforts to complete the Chabahar railway project and connect it to the country's railway network, said Mohammad Jafar Qaempanah, Vice President for Executive Affairs, IRNA reports. He said that this railway will soon be connected to international corridors.

Qaempanah, who visited the North-South Corridor in Chabahar, told IRNA about the strategic importance of the Chabahar railway project. "Connecting this route to the [Iranian] national railway network will lay the foundation for the creation of an international corridor," he noted.

Qaempanah added that this route will enable to transport necessary goods from Iran’s Chabahar Port to the north of the country, and from there to the Caucasus, Russia, and Europe, and this will increase Iran's role in regional and global trade.
